ANNUAL REPORT 2023
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Throughout 2023, No Peace No Quiet, Inc., remained committed to supporting victims and survivors of domestic violence and abuse by staying true to our mission. Our community has worked continuously to improve our library of direct resources, we expanded our public education program, and we engaged with industry leaders to support legislation aimed at regulating the coaching industry, that would ensure survivors receive ethical and effective guidance. In addition, we are proud to report better than expected community engagement with our services to support victims and survivors that raise awareness of targeted social media harassment against victims and survivors that contributes to the bias in society that keeps victims trapped in abusive situations.
With the generosity of our donors, we were able to reinvest surplus donations into our educational programs, reinforcing our commitment to supporting victims and survivors of domestic violence and abuse. This expansion initiative seeks to inform the public about the psychological and social impacts of harassment, provide resources for victims, and advocate for stronger protections on digital platforms. By creating educational campaigns the program works to foster safer online environments. A soft launch was chosen to test the program’s strategies, gauge public interest, and refine content based on feedback before a broader rollout. This phased approach allowed the organization to build momentum and ensure the program is both impactful and sustainable.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT & PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
A disturbing trend has emerged on social media where content creators and their followers engage in doxxing--publicly revealing the protected locations of victims and survivors of domestic violence, putting them at further risk. These individuals often post screenshots of court documents detailing survivors' personal trauma, using this sensitive information to fuel online harassment. Even more troubling, some brag about contacting abusers directly, mocking and ridiculing survivors to intimidate them into silence. This toxic behavior not only re-traumatizes the victims but also creates an unsafe environment for others who may be considering coming forward, perpetuating a culture of fear and abuse.
Social media platforms have increasingly failed to adequately address and remove harmful content that jeopardizes the safety of victims and survivors of domestic violence and abuse. Despite policies aimed at preventing harassment, these platforms often allow damaging posts, such as doxxing or sharing court documents, to remain accessible, putting survivors at heightened risk. Furthermore, social media incentive programs, which reward content creators for engagement and views, are being misused by some to amplify harmful narratives. Abusers and their supporters exploit these incentives by generating sensationalist content targeting survivors, knowing that controversy and harassment drive higher traffic. This failure to moderate content, combined with a monetization system that rewards harmful behavior, creates a hostile environment for those already vulnerable.
In response to the disturbing trends, No Peace No Quiet, Inc., expanded our public awareness campaign focusing on our mission by educating the public about the predatory abuse tactics that are increasingly prevalent on social media platforms. These tactics, such as doxxing, harassment, and the sharing of personal or court-related information, re-traumatize victims and survivors of domestic violence and abuse. By shedding light on these harmful practices, No Peace No Quiet, Inc., aims to empower individuals to recognize and report abusive behavior online. Our campaign seeks to expose how abusers use social media to manipulate, intimidate, and silence survivors, often by rallying followers to join in the harassment.
Through educational materials, and social media outreach, No Peace No Quiet, Inc., is advocating to create a safer online environment, equipping both survivors and the public with tools to counteract digital abuse and support vulnerable individuals.
By the end of 2023, we saw community engagement with our Misconduct Ticketing System increase to over fifty percent from the prior year. This is an early indication that the public awareness campaign is making an impact to drive change and bring us closer to helping survivors stay as safe as possible when looking for support online.

LEGISLATION SUPPORT
In 2023, No Peace No Quiet, Inc., saw a troubling rise in reports of self-proclaimed "trauma coaches" participating in the harassment of survivors, often exploiting vulnerable individuals for personal gain. These unregulated coaches, lacking proper qualifications, have not only offered harmful advice but have also contributed to online harassment campaigns against survivors.
In response, No Peace No Quiet, Inc., has engaged with industry leaders to advocate for legislation that would regulate the coaching industry. By pushing for stricter standards and certifications, the goal is to ensure that trauma survivors receive ethical, professional, and effective guidance. This legislative effort aims to protect survivors from further exploitation and create accountability for those who misuse the title of "coach" to cause harm rather than healing.
With the absence of regulations in the coaching industry, survivors are exposed to unregulated practice that can lead to exploitation, or even financial and emotional harm, undermining their recovery and safety. Proper legislation would mandate training in trauma-informed care, domestic abuse dynamics, and confidentiality, protecting both the survivors and the integrity of the industry. Regulations in the coaching industry would ensure that there is a clear framework for complaints and accountability, offering a pathway for recourse if coaches fail to adhere to ethical standards.
The feedback we received from industry leaders and governing agencies echoed our concerns and confirmed the process we have in place to report issues regarding coaches is currently the best way to address this problem. During this process we discovered that new roles and responsibilities for psychologists and therapists are in the works in the state of California. Once the state of California governing agencies have completed this task, we will incorporate the new framework and revisit this project by bringing forward a legislative draft then reengage with industry leaders to partner with us on this project.
